JAPANESE VALUES

Japan's values are mainly pointed at respect. The society of Japan is a very respectful and modest one. For example, it is considered of utmost importance. You should also be respectful to your parents and others. That means no "Yo Momma" jokes. Modesty is another essential value. In normal talk, you'd want to be that (as Americans call it) "annoying degree of modesty." I.E. if someone complements you for hard work, it is usual to reply something saying that you really didn't try that hard and could have done better because it's not the best.
Traditions are another well respected idea. To learn more, click here. Along with traditions, history and education are prime values. It is almost required that you know a great deal.
Finally, nature is a huge value. Japan respects nature to its fullest degree. It is wise for one to be respectful to plants. It is also commonplace to see lanscapes and gardens.
